Now the big question for us Seattle fans is, will the SuperSonics (and the WNBA Seattle Storm) be delivered as well?
The new owners, Clay Bennett and a group of investors, are from Oklahoma City. That's significant because Oklahoma City has had a taste of NBA basketball that started when the New Orleans Hornets were blown out of their home by Hurricane Katrina. Oklahomans seem to be hooked -- tickets to the Hornets games at Ford Center sold out 24 times last season. Average attendance was over 18,000 per game...compared to 16,199 per game in Seattle's KeyArena.
Bennett has said he'll do all he can to keep the SuperSonics at least in the vicinity of Seattle. But when the Hornets go back to New Orleans next season, what then?
